Kitesurfing on Ireland's west coast — gear and lessons for Clare riders from Galway

Kitesurfing in Clare: gear, lessons and where to ride

Posted by Paddy on

Clare has coastline most countries would kill for — Lahinch, Spanish Point, the whole Atlantic-facing run of it. What it doesn't have is a dedicated kite shop. That's where we come in: Barna village, Galway, about an hour up the coast road from Lahinch, and we're set up to look after Clare riders properly.

Learning? Do it the smart way

Clare's beach breaks are brilliant when you can ride — and a hard place to learn. Our lessons run at Silverstrand on Galway Bay: shallow, sandy, and far more forgiving than launching yourself into Atlantic surf on day one. Every session is 1:1 with radio coaching, so you progress fast and come home safe. Read why Silverstrand is the best learning spot on the west coast, then bring your new skills back to Clare's waves.

Gear without the ferry-sized shipping wait

We're the only Approved CORE dealer in the Republic, the only Code Foils and LIEUWE dealer in Ireland, and we stock Ozone, F-One, North, Mystic and Appletree in depth. Free delivery over €200 — most Clare orders land within a day or two — or call in on your way through Galway and try things on.

A deal just for the west coast

Because you're one of our home counties, use code WESTCOAST10 for an extra 10% off orders over €500 from our Gear Up & Save range — wetsuits, boots, gloves, hoods, vests, helmets and leashes, all in stock in Galway.

Questions about spots, sizes or setups? WhatsApp us — we answer ourselves, and we've probably ridden your local.
