Wingfoiling Ireland: Private 1:1 Lessons & Gear in Galway
Private 1:1 wing foil lessons in Galway at Rusheen Bay — sheltered, shallow, flat water right beside our trailer base at Silverstrand. Wing foiling is the fastest-growing watersport in the world for good reason, and Rusheen is one of the best places in Ireland to learn it. Looking for wingfoiling in Ireland more broadly? We teach here in Galway and ship wings, boards and foils nationwide — Dublin included. Questions? Message us on WhatsApp (087 144 8888).
Why learn with us
- Private 1:1 lessons — never group sessions
- Modern school gear — stable boards, the latest wings, helmets and impact vests included
- Radio helmets — live coaching while you're on the water
- Instructors who ride these waters year-round
The pathway
- First session — wing handling on land and board basics in the bay
- Getting up — taxiing and first flights on the foil
- Flying — sustained foiling, turns and riding upwind
Most people are flying within 3–5 sessions. After that, our demo programme lets you try wings and foils before you buy — and lesson clients get money off their first setup. Setups, packages and try-before-you-buy all live on our Foiling Hub — and buy your first setup from us and you can trade it back in when you progress.

Wingfoiling in Ireland — common questions
Where can I go wingfoiling in Ireland? Galway's west coast — Rusheen Bay in particular — is one of the best spots in the country: sheltered, shallow and consistently windy. We teach here 1:1, and if you're elsewhere in Ireland we ship wings, boards and foils nationwide so you can ride your own local spot.
How long does it take to learn wing foiling? Most people are up and flying within 3–5 private sessions. Because every lesson is 1:1 with radio coaching, you progress far faster than in a group.
Do I need my own gear? No — stable boards, the latest wings, helmets and impact vests are all included in every lesson.
Where do the lessons happen? Rusheen Bay, right beside Silverstrand in Barna, Galway — sheltered, shallow and flat, one of the best places in Ireland to learn to wing foil. See our guide to where to ride in Galway and the west.
I'm not based in Galway — is it worth travelling? Riders come to us from Dublin (about 2 hours — a west-coast weekend beats a queue on the east), Mayo, Clare, Limerick and right across Ireland — private coaching on flat water means you learn in a fraction of the sessions, and you can sort your first setup from the shop while you're here. We also deliver gear nationwide, Dublin in 1–2 working days.
