Nobody else in the country stocks KT. If you've been pricing a carbon downwind board from the continent — and paying the shipping, the wait and the customs on top — this is the piece we'd read before you click buy.
Why it's the only one
KT Surfing is a Maui brand. Keith Teboul shapes boards that the downwind and SUP-foil crowd on the Pacific talk about the way kiters talk about a Bandit — and they simply don't get imported to Ireland. This one came in as a personal board this season, got four sessions, and has been stored indoors since. It's on the site with honest photos of every mark.
New, the cheapest we can find it in Europe is €2,170, and that's before it gets to your door. RRP is €2,460. We had it at €1,749 when the clearance opened, took it to €1,495, and on 16 September cut it to €1,295 for the final fortnight — that's the floor, it won't go lower. Well over a thousand euro off RRP for a board that has been wet four times.
What it actually is
The Ginxu Dragonfly Surf 2 Carbon is KT's downwind and SUP-foil board. This is the 148-litre version: 8'10" long, 20.5" wide, quad fin boxes and dual foil tracks, in KT's Dual Fusion Core carbon construction. The bit that matters is underneath — the patented Ginxu step bottom, which releases from the water earlier than anything else in its class. In plain terms: you get up on foil with fewer paddle strokes, in less wind and smaller bumps, and that's the whole game in downwind foiling.
At 148 litres it's the big-volume one, which makes it two things. For a heavier rider it's the proper paddle-up downwind board. For anyone else it's the easiest possible way into SUP foiling and flat-water paddle-up practice, because there's enough float under you to make mistakes on. Why a niche board is the best bargain on the site
Here's the honest economics of it. A 9m kite has a thousand potential buyers in Ireland, so it sells at a sensible price and we don't have to give it away. A carbon downwind board has maybe fifty people in the country who know what it's for. That's why it's priced where it is — not because there's anything wrong with it, but because the right person for it is rare, and we'd rather that person had it than have it sit in the shop over winter.
If you're one of the fifty, that maths works entirely in your favour. You are getting a carbon board from a brand nobody here imports, for less than most people pay for an aluminium foil setup, from a shop you can drive to.
Who should buy it
You should if you're already SUP foiling and want the board that makes downwinders on Galway Bay realistic — we wrote about whether that's actually doable here, and it is. You should if you're a wing foiler who's been eyeing the downwind thing and wants a board with enough volume to learn paddle-ups without the frustration. And you should if you're a heavier rider who's been told the 120-litre boards are "fine" and knows they aren't.

It's in Barna. Come and pick it up, turn it over, look at the marks — they're cosmetic, they're all in the photos, and the board has never been repaired or dinged.
