Step 1: a trainer kite (€269–399)
The cheapest hours you'll ever buy. An Ozone Ignition V3 teaches you kite control and the wind window on land, so your lessons go twice as far. Our review here.
Step 2: lessons — and why ours are different
Here's where we'll be blunt: not all lessons are equal. Plenty of schools run group lessons where four students share one kite and one instructor — you're paying for a half-day and getting thirty minutes of actual kite time.
We only teach 1:1. Every session is yours alone, radio-coached, at your pace and your level. And you're learning from a BKSA senior instructor who is also trained as an advanced paramedic and spent six years as RNLI lifeboat crew. That's not a line for the brochure — it means the person teaching you has real rescue experience on this exact coastline, and all of that knowledge gets passed to you: reading conditions, self-rescue, staying safe when the Atlantic does Atlantic things. Step 3: your first setup
A complete new package — kite, bar and board, matched to your weight and Irish conditions — runs from around €2,700 in our beginner packages, with ex-demo and instructor-gear packages from well under €2,000 in our deals range. Everything is set up and checked before it leaves the shop, with full warranty and us on the end of a WhatsApp for the life of the gear.

Step 4: wetsuit and rubber
