Quick answer: the Flow V2 is the easy, confidence-building do-it-all wing — the one most riders should buy. The Flux V2 is the faster, sharper high-performance wing for riders chasing speed and upwind angles. Both start at €1,119, so it's not about budget — it's about how you ride.
We teach and ride on the west coast of Ireland every week, and these are the two wings we reach for most. Here's the honest breakdown.
Ozone Flow V2 — the confidence wing
The Flow V2 is Ozone's do-it-all freeride wing, designed to boost your confidence and capability across every discipline. It's the easiest wing in the range for tacks, gybes and flagging out, thanks to re-tuned sail tension and a positive lift profile — and the redesigned profile means easier low-end pumping and less arm fatigue when it's gusty. The new carbon boom with injection-moulded components has zero play, giving a wonderfully direct, connected feel, and the hybrid Teijin 5x5 and 3x3 Ripstop canopy holds its shape season after season. Anti-flap technology keeps it quiet and controlled when you're drifting on the foil.
Best for: most riders — from first flights through to confident carving. Sizes 2.4m–5.7m from €1,119.
Ozone Flux V2 — the fast one
The Flux V2 is Ozone's high-performance freeride wing, built for riders who want high-speed fun with comfort and control. The stiffer Teijin Triple Ripstop Dacron airframe gives noticeably more rigidity, the refined high aspect-ratio shape boosts both low-end power and top-end control, and the optimised canopy tension with anti-flap battens keeps everything taut at speed. EVA-covered carbon handles — including an extended front handle for one-handed control — and a stiffer leading edge handle for drift control round it out. It delivers faster riding and improved upwind angles over the original Flux.
Best for: progressing and advanced riders who want pace, upwind performance and a sharper feel. Sizes 2.4m–6m from €1,119.
And if you want the ultimate?
Above them both sits the Flux V2 Ultra-X with its Aluula airframe — roughly 20% lighter and stiffer again. It's the wing Paddy bought for himself: our full review here, especially worth a read if you're a heavier rider.
