Code Foils X Foil Drive integrated carbon mast — Foil Drive setups in Ireland

Foil Drive in Ireland: what it is and which boards to pair it with

Posted by Paddy on

Foil Drive is the biggest thing to happen to foiling in years: a compact motor-assist system that gets you up on the foil with no wind, no waves and no boat. Flat calm on Galway Bay? Doesn't matter — you're foiling. Once you're up, kill the motor and ride glassy swell lines under your own glide. It's also the single best training tool for learning to foil, because you can practise take-offs on demand instead of waiting for conditions.

Can you get it in Ireland?

Yes — we can order Foil Drive systems for you, and more importantly we stock the boards and foils that actually work with them. That last part matters: bolting a Foil Drive onto the wrong board is how people end up hating assisted foiling.

The boards we'd pair it with

Appletree Zapple — from €1,849, in stock. Purpose-built for Foil Drive by the Dutch carbon wizards, with the volume and mount geometry to carry the unit properly. If you're building a dedicated assisted-foiling setup, this is the board — and we're the west coast home of Appletree.

North Boost — from €1,439, in stock. North's Foil Drive-specific board: slightly friendlier price, brilliant build, and a great platform if you're already in the North foil ecosystem.

The clean-install option: Code's integrated mast

The slickest setup going is the Code Foils X Foil Drive integrated carbon mast (€2,409) — the unit's wiring runs inside the mast itself, so there's no strapped-on housing disturbing the water. We're the only Code Foils dealer in Ireland, so if you want this setup, it's coming from Galway.

Try it through the Foiling Hub

Foil Drive setups are a serious investment, which is exactly why our Foiling Hub exists: view the setups, talk it through with people who ride them, and get demo cost back off your purchase. WhatsApp us your weight and what you want out of it and we'll spec the whole thing — board, foil, mast and unit — right first time.
