F-One Atom kite control bar review Ireland — Paddy in the Elements

F-One Atom bar review — the best thing to happen to your hands this year

Posted by Paddy on

Quick answer: the Atom is F-One's best bar yet — direct, clean and refreshingly simple — and it's the bar we now rig on every Bandit and Trigger that leaves the shop.

What it is

The Atom is F-One's brand-new control bar, and the design brief clearly started with a ruthless question: what can we remove? The result is a bar with nothing on it that doesn't need to be there. Fewer parts means less to snag, less to service and less to go wrong — which matters when your bar lives in Atlantic salt and Galway sand.

How it feels

Direct is the word. Steering input goes straight to the kite with no vagueness in the middle, depower is smooth through the throw, and everything falls to hand without looking — the sign of a bar that's been designed by people who actually ride. Unhook, spin, reload: it all just works, first time, with cold hands, in December. That's the test that matters here.

Who it's for

Anyone flying an F-One kite, obviously — it's the natural partner for the Bandit TEC and the Trigger V2. But it's also a genuinely good answer for anyone whose current bar is five seasons old and fraying: modern safety systems have moved on more than most riders realise, and a fresh bar is the cheapest meaningful safety upgrade you can make.

Price and where to get one

The F-One Atom is €749, in stock in Galway right now — free delivery over €200 anywhere in Ireland. It's also the bar in our F-One Freeride Package with the Bandit and Spark board. Not sure it fits your kite? WhatsApp us — honest answer within the hour.
