Kites and boards get all the glory, but it's your wetsuit and harness that decide whether a session is brilliant or miserable. That's why we've stocked Mystic from day one — Mystic wetsuits are what we wear ourselves, twelve months a year, in Irish water.
Mystic wetsuits for Irish water, honestly
Here's our simple rule for the west coast: 5/4mm with a hood from November to April (the Majestic 5/4 is superb), 4/3 or 5/3 for autumn and spring (the Marshall is unbeatable value), and a 3/2 for those two weeks in July we call summer. Add 3mm boots, gloves and a hood for the cold months and there's genuinely no off-season in Ireland. For the full season-by-season breakdown, read our guide to what wetsuit thickness you need for kitesurfing in Ireland, and browse everything in stock in the Mystic collection.
Harnesses: find your back's best friend
The Stealth is the one the team riders wear — a stiff carbon shell that spreads the load so your back doesn't know you've been on the water four hours. The Majestic and Majestic X are long-standing favourites for comfort, and the Warrior is the workhorse that started half of Ireland's kiters. Ladies — the Gem series (developed with Bruna Kajiya and Jalou Langeree) is cut properly for women, not just shrunk and re-coloured.
Boots, gloves and the bits that keep you out there
Our Mystic Majestic 3mm split toe boots review explains why boots are the most underrated kit in Irish watersports — and the Supreme 5mm boots and lobster gloves carry you through the coldest months.
