North Orbit 2026 review — still the big-air benchmark

Posted by Paddy on

The North Orbit has been the big-air benchmark for a few seasons now, and the 2026 N-Max 2 version keeps it there. Here's how we see it after riding it in proper Irish wind.

Who it's for

Riders who want to boost — whether you're working on your first proper jumps or chasing serious height and hangtime. It's also a brilliant all-round freeride kite, so you're not buying a one-trick pony.

On the water

Huge, floaty jumps with a long, soft hangtime that gives you time to think. Loads of low-end grunt so it gets you going early, and stable enough to feel safe when it's gusty. The bar feel is light and the depower is smooth.

Our verdict

If big air is your goal, the Orbit is still the kite to beat — and it's forgiving enough that it won't punish you while you learn. We carry the full range in Barna. Browse North kites or message us for the right size for your weight.
