Core NXS review — three kites in one

Posted by Paddy on

Quick answer: if you want one kite that genuinely covers twintip freeride, waves and foiling, the NXS is the cleverest kite CORE have ever made.

What it is

The NXS merges three much-loved CORE kites into one: the all-round Nexus, the lightwind XLite and the wave-focused Section. Three struts means it's light, agile and drifts beautifully — so the same kite happily does your twintip session on Saturday, your surfboard wave day on Sunday, and your foil session when the wind goes soft.

How it rides

Light bar pressure, quick pivotal turning, and drift that inspires confidence when you're riding swell with the kite parked. It jumps well — not XR X well, but plenty for most riders — and the low-end grunt from the three-strut platform is superb for Irish summer conditions. Where it shines is versatility: this is a one-kite-quiver kite in the truest sense.

Who it's for

Riders who do a bit of everything and want to stop carrying three kites to the beach. If you live for big air and nothing else, look at the XR X instead — that comparison is here. For everyone else, the NXS is the smart money. Sizes from €1,799.

We're the only Approved CORE dealer in the Republic of Ireland, so demos, warranty and honest sizing advice all live in one place: WhatsApp us your weight and local spot, or catch it at a demo day. Browse the full CORE range.
