Appletree Skipper Downwind V2 – Foil Board

The Skipper Downwind V2 is a major evolution from its predecessor, carefully reengineered for improved foil control, lift and efficiency.

Dual rocker design

A completely updated bottom shape: sharper rail lines and a dual-rocker configuration — a curved rail rocker for foil-angle control, and a straighter, extended centreline for planing and lift. The two lines merge mid-board into a flatter, more efficient section that makes initiating movement easier, even before the board touches the water — significantly better pumping and glide than V1.

Sharpened rails, freer tail

A rethought rail profile: the harder rail tracks slightly more but releases far better, with cleaner touchpoints during touchdowns. The outer rail curve rises more steeply toward the tail, freeing it up for a more dynamic, responsive feel. A sharper nose rail improves front-end lift, allowing a narrower, longer board without losing performance. Rail tape, an extra bottom layer and a new tapered edge from the foil box to the tail add durability where it's needed.

Deck upgrades for control & drainage

A new "spoiler" shape toward the tail improves drainage, while the standing zone's front concave channels water to the rear exit channels. The pump zone is reinforced with a hex-skin plate — the stiffest deck we've built.

Lighter, stronger build

Despite slightly heavier 50K closed-cell foam, a super-light finish cuts overall weight significantly. The result is a lighter, more competitive downwind board that sits low over the foil, with extra volume toward the rear — without adding thickness.
