Silverstrand Beach, Barna, Galway

Where to kitesurf and wingfoil around Galway

Posted by Paddy in the Elements on

The West Coast is world-class for kitesurfing and wingfoiling. Silverstrand in Barna is our home spot — a shallow, flat lagoon forms at low tide, ideal for learning. Rusheen Bay, just behind it, is sheltered and flat — one of the best wingfoiling spots in Ireland. And Lahinch in Clare is a proper Atlantic wave break for experienced riders.

Always check the wind before you travel — we keep a live Silverstrand forecast on our Community page. See the full rundown on our locations page, or message us for local advice.
